Ariel’s work is very striking, and his imagination and wit really come through his installations and sculptures. His use of very ordinary everyday objects, like paper, bottles, glasses are turned into very clever pieces of art. From burning carpets to canvases to putting flames inside bicycle wheels and bottles, he certainly has a very interesting mind!
I enjoy the way Ariel animates objects and sort of brings them to life. It‘s fun to see what objects he has used and also how he then uses them and adds to them. It gets you thinking. Sometimes you might find a piece fun and amusing, sometimes they might make you a bit apprehensive or nervous, especially when you see naked flames and gas canisters.
I particularly like his broken windows art pieces. It is such an original way of framing a photograph or painting, with the broken glass being part of the work. It is something which will definitely make me think about how to frame my work in the future and experiment with different layers and materials.
