This semester we had to choose the project that enticed us in the most. I decided to go with the sound and image project, lead by Peter Appleton. I've always loved editing, however I've not produced a lot of video installations, as I never thought about cooperating videos with my art, I've always painted. So this project has changed the way I see my art, there's so many different possibilities of art I can produce. I also love music, so this project stood out to me as I wanted to see what cool content I could come up with. I thought to myself wouldn't it be a good idea to mix my editing skills with my abstract paintings.

Like always, I tend to struggle finding a starting point. I start by thinking about my life, my friends, what inspires me, what art I find visually pleasing and exciting. As our videos are being uploaded onto YouTube, we're not allowed to use any copyrighted songs, and luckily for me one of my best friends Bronya studies music at Uni, and she's recently released her first ever funky, original Drum and Bass song. So we thought we'd come together and share our talents. I wanted to capture our vibrant lives through bold colours, wild visuals and our crazy imaginations. I videoed my two friends and overlaid it over a painting that relates to them with secret hidden meanings (inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat.) I messed around with the edit until I was happy with the outcome. The way I envision this video to be shown in the "real world" is in a dark black room, with the installation projected massively. When you walk in I want you to get lost in the moment of madness, and I want you to leave seeing the world in a more colourful way. After doing this project, it's encouraged me to make more video installations as I love the outcome of this video and I hope you do too!
